another brain teaser

Seems to me Alex, that Jon (he had a name) would not do that. Jon, one of my good friends in fact, did not enjoy "waiting" for other people to help him, he was a go-getter, and he felt insulted when others would try to go out of there way to try to help him. Another thing, have you ever walked 37 flights of stairs? if there is anyway possible to cut down on that number, dont' you think you would do it? so come on, even though this is a brain teaser (to some extent, Jon really is a great guy), you must think outside of the box before jumping to conclusions as you did. Thank you for your time though, but next time, give it some more thought.

i once did 10 stairs to get to the top of a faculty where i had a college, but only because i felt brave and i had 5 minutes to spare...
now i know why they invented elevators.
but it was fun to do and every year they have a contest , who can run all the way up the fastest and believe me, some people can do that in about a minute.

Sometimes I run up and down the one flight of stairs at my local junior college just before going to class. I run up, then down, then up, then down, until I'm all sweaty. If someone asks, I tell them I'm training for the football team *of which there isn't one* and then I go to class and act like i've been followed.

as far as i can tell (or remember), the higher numbers are relative to the positioning of the floors, themselves.
higher is on top.

of course, it would be nice to verify this.
